A round-up of recent geonews regarding Russia. Last week APB informed us about the announcement by the Russian Space Agency that the number of satellites in the GLONASS constellation should jump from the current 16 to 30 by 2011. APB also pointed to the new detailed online maps of the world in Russian language via Yandex, the dominant Russian search engine. Vector One shared a source of land resources GIS data for Russia. There was also extensive coverage of the Russia-Georgia conflict on the geoblogs. See also related stories below. Read more of this story at Slashgeo.
