The MIO P550 is a great PDA/PND. It comes preloaded with North America which takes up 1.5Gb of the 2Gb internal memory. This leaves the user with about 500 Mb for programs and saved data. This is plenty for the average user. Not everyone needs all of North America in the unit at one time. You can eliminate either Canada or the USA from your maps sets to free up memory Here's one way to do it. .... The Easy WayThe simple way to eliminate a map is to delete it from the internal memory of your unit. Simply Open File Explorer and find the folder Mydevice->Windows/MioMap/maps . Delete the map you do not require, you can always reload it using the MIO Map DVD that comes in the P550 package. If you delete the USA you will gain almost 1.5Gb of space. Canada takes up about 100Mb. The Other WayHere is how you would do it by performing a clean boot and reinstalling Miomap with the map of your choice.
The following procedure will delete all files from your MIO P550. Back-up all user data stored on the unit before proceeding. Perform a Clean Boot;

Apr 27 2008 20:09:00 I love the MIO P550 but the software is difficult to use. I still can not figure out how to place a waypoint. Can anybody assist me.
